Celebrating achievement and impact for Educators of Excellence
Education is not always an encouraging profession. Teachers and staff members put in outstanding work each day, but they can struggle to see the positive impact they’ve had on students. Logistics, expectations, and challenges often take the focus, which is why it’s so important to celebrate positive impact wherever possible.
This is the goal of Educators of Excellence, Sourcewell’s annual celebration that lifts up Central Minnesota educators who make an impact daily with their perseverance, integrity, and commitment to innovation. These teachers and staff members may not always see the benefits of the life-changing work they do, but it is certainly felt by their students and colleagues.
Impact takes many forms: In prior years, most Educator of Excellence awards were given only to teachers. While teachers are still a focus of the event, this year also saw the addition of a new category called “Pillars of Excellence,” to celebrate numerous nonteaching staff members who improve their schools and districts with their work.
As another school year approaches its end, Sourcewell joins central Minnesota schools in celebrating the outstanding impact that their educators have on students: both the few moments that get celebrated, and the many thousands more that go unsung.
