Celebrating Earth Day 2019 with more sustainable solutions for education

Electric vehicles provide green solutions for getting around

Download

Sourcewell is part of a movement taking the wheel when it comes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout member school districts. More and more high schools are installing “greener” field turf options through our cooperative contracts. We have alternative fuel school buses on contract, powered by propane, natural gas, or electricity. Today, you can purchase electric vehicles, low/medium-speed electric vehicles, charging stations, and vehicle support products already on contract.

As a partner in sustainability, we’ve joined forces with the Climate Mayors and Electrification Coalition to create the Climate Mayors Electric Vehicle Purchasing Collaborative. Since its launch six months ago, the collaborative has been working with government agencies across the United States to support public fleet electrification.

On April 23 – the day after Earth Day – Sourcewell, the Electrification Coalition, the City of Los Angeles, and the City of Orlando will present on a panel about fleet electrification at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Long Beach, Calif. The session will focus on how fleets are going electric with the leadership of this team.

You can learn more about our partnership and the collaborative at https://www.driveevfleets.org.
