Celebrating students of character
Local student leaders honored at area event
Local students gathered to be celebrated at the 2025 Students of Character celebration, held April 23, 2025, at Madden’s on Gull Lake.
Forty-five juniors and seniors from high schools throughout the area – including Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena counties – were honored at a special event hosted by Sourcewell recognizing students for their impact throughout their schools and communities. Each honoree was selected by staff from their school and presented with a $750 scholarship, made possible by business and community donations.
“This is one of my favorite events each year,” says Sourcewell CEO Chad Coauette. “Our students are incredible people who have given so much to their communities: It’s fantastic seeing those communities come together to give them something back as a show of support. We’re honored to be a part of recognizing these students, and we’re excited to see the impact they’ll have in the years to come.”
The Students of Character Celebration was by invitation only; however, the event was broadcast live on Facebook for the general public. A recording of the complete event can be viewed on the Sourcewell Facebook page.
