Educators to Benefit from Internationally Recognized Program

Sourcewell Technology named ISTE® Certification Authorized Provider

Educators at all levels and content areas now have access to high-quality learning and an internationally recognized certification process through one Minnesota technology solutions provider.

The International Society for Technology in Education, or ISTE, has designated Sourcewell Technology as one of only 13 ISTE Certification Authorized Providers in the country. The designation allows educators to access professional learning workshops and pursue certification based on ISTE standards with local, on-site training delivered at Sourcewell Technology in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Sourcewell Technology will host its first ISTE Certification cohort, October 15-16, 2020. Individual trainings – online or in-person – can also be arranged by school districts through Sourcewell Technology.

What is ISTE?

ISTE Certification for Educators is a competency-based, vendor-neutral learning opportunity designed to help PK-12 educators rethink and redesign activities with technology to engage students in real-world, authentic, and active learning.

Candidate educators will participate in a rigorous process that includes both in-person and online training. After completing the training, participants have six months to compile artifacts and reflections into a portfolio for submission to the ISTE evaluation team to earn certification.

“Being designated as an ISTE Certification Authorized Provider is an incredible honor,” said Sourcewell Technology's Tony Skauge. “ISTE is highly regarded by technology education professionals and being in a position where we can provide instruction to potential candidates aligns with our vision of improved student achievement.”
