Honoring Leadership and Longevity

Nanik recognized for more than two decades of service

For 25 years, Sue Nanik has provided a sense of calm and consistency in the face of challenge and change.

As Sourcewell's Director of Administration, Sue has witnessed the organization evolve from a handful of staff to more than 200. And over that time, the hats she has worn are many – including interim executive director. But Sue has done it all while remaining humble, dedicated, and a storehouse of history and knowledge.

On Thursday, October 29, Sue's dedication was recognized as she received an Outstanding Service Award by Minnesota Service Cooperatives at the organization's annual conference in Alexandria.

The MSC is a joint powers organization comprised of nine educational service agencies, including Sourcewell, serving and meeting the needs of school districts, cities, counties, and other local governments geographically distributed across the state.

Sourcewell Executive Director and CEO Chad Coauette said the award was well-earned as Sue continually puts people first, doing her best to ensure staff feel valued.

“As a member of Sourcewell's Senior Leadership Team, Sue provides great perspective and strategy while considering each employee,” Coauette said. “She is approachable and builds relationships throughout the organization, community, and beyond. As the sole female leader on the SLT Team, she is instrumental in helping make sound decisions and inspire other women to become leaders in the organization.”
