Seven central Minnesota child care providers receive honors

Seven child care providers from seven local counties have been named 2020 Sourcewell Child Care Providers of the Year.

The announcements were made at the third-annual child care networking conference hosted by Sourcewell. Typically held in-person, this year's event was virtual, and more than 115 providers attended.

Participants were licensed in-home family child care providers from counties that partner with Sourcewell for family child care licensing, including Becker, Cass, Crow Wing, Douglas, Morrison, Stevens, Todd, and Wadena counties.

“We, as a licensing team, feel so fortunate to be able to offer this conference annually at a low cost and to offer high-quality professional development to our licensed programs,” said Sourcewell Lead Regional Licensing Specialist Michelle Tautges. “It's a great opportunity for the providers to fulfil their required training hours and to network with other providers.”

Recipients of the Sourcewell's Child Care Provider of the Year award are nominated by families of children in their care or professionals in the industry.

This year's recipients are:

  • Becker County – Susan Felt
  • Cass County – Stacy Schlosser
  • Crow Wing County – Rachel Christensen
  • Douglas County – Trinessa Spanswick
  • Morrison County – Cheryl Brambrink
  • Todd County – Veronica Minor
  • Wadena County – Carla and Onnie Tapio
