For educators: SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) is a peer-led professional development program promoting change and building capacity for more equitable curriculum, schools, and communities. Series occurs once a month – September through January. Register by Sept. 19.

Brainerd Lakes Area Lunch and Learn for Nonprofits:

Broccoli and Cheese – Designing Digestible Data

Held at the Brainerd Chamber of Commerce: Bring your own lunch to learn, network, and share ideas with colleagues at these free professional development events. In this session, Jake Blumberg, executive director of GiveMN, will share how to go beyond infographics to bring data and design together and tell an engaging story. Offered in partnership with the Initiative Foundation, Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation, CliftonLarsonAllen, and Sourcewell. Jeffers Foundation Workshop & Science Network Opportunity

For educators: Emphasizing new science standards for elementary, middle, and high school; these hands-on workshops explore outdoor learning and multidisciplinary lessons centered on science concepts. Register by Sept. 16.

For school leaders: This Academy focuses on key mindsets and skills school leaders can implement immediately, including identifying effective classroom practices, delivering actionable feedback, and providing support for employee growth. Register by Sept. 17.

Human/Sex Trafficking Awareness Training

For law enforcement and community leaders: Upon completion, participants will have a better understanding of sex trafficking in Minnesota, feel more confident in their abilities to work with affected youth, and have the tools to accurately identify victims and survivors. Presented by Kate LePage, Central MN Safe Harbor Regional Navigator, and Baxter Police Chief Jim Exsted. Event is free and includes lunch. Register by Sept. 18.
