| Bridging Divides: What to do when people disagree | Angry constituents? Hot topics like ‘buffer strips’ or ‘police-community relations’? Are fellow board members feeling passionate about issues? Compromise isn't the only option. In this workshop, learn what to do when emotions run high and positions are deeply held, plus how to de-escalate difficult situations and move from confrontation and conflict to effective solutions. Friday, May 4 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. | Leadercast - “Lead Yourself” | Join local leaders and aspiring leaders for the world's largest one-day leadership conference, broadcast live from Atlanta. Eight keynote speakers will help attendees discover the qualities and characteristics of global leaders who exemplify what it means to lead yourself so you can be the best leader of others. Friday, May 11 6:00 - 9:00 pm | Freshwater Education District/NJPA Student Art Show Staples Centennial Auditorium Lobby | Browse the artwork of Region 5 students grades 4-12. The show includes paintings, drawings, crafts, mixed media, digital art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and pottery/ceramics. Admission is FREE and open to the public from 6-9 p.m. Staples-Motley High School's symphony orchestra and concert band and choir present their Finale Concert in the Auditorium that evening at 7 p.m. |
Tuesday, May 22 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Todd County Citizens Against Drugs (CAD) Coalition - monthly meeting | CAD is a collection of friends, family, community leaders, and neighbors all working together to address issues relating to the prevention of underage alcohol consumption, adult alcohol abuse, and drug misuse.
