Providing a meal program for a large group of people is no simple task. Public entities such as schools, hospitals, and correctional facilities, are often faced with the challenge of offering nutritious and federally compliant meals without creating excess waste or breaking their budgets.

Working with a food service program is a great way to take the guesswork out of planning food for hundreds and ensure your entity is compliant. National Joint Powers Alliance® (NJPA) is pleased to offer contracts with two food service vendors.

Following a nationwide competitive solicitation, NJPA re-awarded contracts to US Foods and Multi-Unit Group.

“We support K-12 schools, higher education institutions, prisons, hospitals, and other local and state government entities across North America who have a need to feed their students or residents,” says Tom Perttula, NJPA manager of contract administration. "It was our goal to ensure we had solutions for everyone. US Foods and Multi-Unit Group offer an extensive line of products and services, and both are eager to serve our members.”

Through the contracts, public entities can acquire a wide variety of foodservice products and services to meet federal requirements and satisfy hungry constituents, including food and dairy consumables, meal-planning programs and software, serving and kitchen equipment, paper products and related janitorial supplies, and more.

Purchasing off an NJPA contract streamlines the procurement process for public entities, saving them time and money. Effective as of January 16, 2018, the contracts are available to all NJPA members throughout the US and Canada.
