Preparing Tomorrow's Workforce Today

Businesses, community leaders invited to participate in regional conference

How can our schools better prepare today's students for tomorrow's workforce?

Leaders from businesses, communities, and schools are invited to participate in the 2019 Workforce Conference, held Nov. 8 from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Sourcewell in Staples.

The intent of this annual event is to continue building stronger connections between classrooms and careers by bringing a variety of central Minnesota stakeholders together. With all voices represented at the table, discover and discuss ways schools and companies can partner to provide businesses with the skilled workers they need while giving students the career exposure and experience they desire.

During this interactive workshop, participants will:

  • Review current trends and needs related to career readiness in the five-county region
  • Share best practices, ideas, and resources that can be implemented locally
  • Hear first-hand from businesses and schools already operating in partnership
  • Develop plans for partnerships between area schools and business/industry
