Six suppliers have been awarded contracts in the Roadway Maintenance Equipment category, making their products and services available through cooperative purchasing.

These contracts offer specialized equipment for the maintenance of paved roadways, including asphalt recyclers and reclaimers; patchers, seal coaters, crack sealers, and mastic and adhesive melters; pavement grinding or grooving equipment; and pavement marking equipment.

“Proper road maintenance plays an important role in the life span of roads and highways,” says Supplier Development Supervisor Kelly McAllister. “On average, a road surface will last around 25 years; however, during this time it will likely need to be resealed every two to three years just to ensure it remains usable.”

Following a competitive solicitation process, Sourcewell awarded cooperative purchasing contracts offering access to these suppliers:

Pavement and road surface marking and road preparation equipment; line, paint, and epoxy striping equipment; asphalt and high-speed brooms and broom attachments; walk-behind paint stripers and thermoplastic striping trucks.

Pavement and roadway maintenance equipment, including crack sealers, mastic patchers, spray patchers, asphalt patchers, pavement routers, tack kettles, and emulsion storage equipment.

Pavement and asphalt maintenance, melters and applicators, crack preparation equipment, crack and joint sealants, patchers, seal coat applicators, asphalt recyclers, hotboxes, disinfectant sprayers, and pavement marking and grinding equipment.

Trucks for paint striping, raised pavement markers (RPM) and tape application, thermoplastic and plural components and marking; midsize paint machinery; walk-behind paint machines and grinders; traffic coatings; and griding, grooving, and line removal equipment.

Asphalt hotbox reclaimers; 2-4 tons reclaimer models; skid and trailer mounts; infrared asphalt, 16-48 square foot, and asphalt millings recyclers; asphalt rubber melters; asphalt crack preparation tools; municipal financing options; nationwide dealer network; and technical and parts support.
