Six Contracts Awarded in NJPA's New Chassis Category
NJPA recently awarded contracts in the “Class 6, 7, and 8 Chassis with Related Equipment, Accessories, and Services” category through solicitation #081716. NJPA contracts are solicited across North America and are competitively awarded on behalf of NJPA current and potential government and education member agencies.
STAPLES, Minn. (15 December 2016) -- National Joint Powers Alliance® (NJPA) recently awarded six contracts in its new category of “Class 6, 7, and 8 Chassis with Related Equipment, Accessories, and Services.” The contracts were effective as of November 15, 2016, and are available to NJPA members throughout the US and Canada.
Autocar, National Auto Fleet, Navistar, Kenworth Truck Company, Peterbilt Motors Company, and Volvo Trucks were selected from a highly competitive solicitation process. These contracts will streamline the purchasing process for NJPA members, saving them time and money.
A class 6, 7, and 8 chassis is a heavy-duty truck – the cab, engine, and main frame – and is designed to have a “body” added to it, such as a flatbed with a crane, a utility or service box, refrigerated box, or platform bed. These chassis contracts complement existing NJPA contracts within its Fleet categories that offer truck body components, giving members additional options in finding a complete solution.
NJPA Manager of Contract Administration Tom Perttula says the creation of the new category was driven by members.
“Our members have been asking for these for a long time,” Perttula said. “It's exciting to offer them access to heavy-duty truck chassis from the top brand names in the industry.”
