Nonprofits within Region 5 have a new ally in providing services and resources to local communities.

Sourcewell recently announced the addition of nonprofit services to its partners in Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena counties. The expansion of services and opportunities was in response to the growing needs and challenges facing nonprofits, according to Sourcewell Nonprofit Member Specialist Tammy Filippi.

“Sourcewell has always recognized the importance of its nonprofit partners throughout the area but was finally in a position where resources could be devoted in a full-time capacity,” Filippi said. “I am honored to serve in this capacity and look forward to working with the nonprofits that make an incredible difference throughout Region 5.”

On January 22, Sourcewell will host the first in a three-part series of Succession Training for Nonprofits. Whether there is an unexpected vacancy on the staff or board, or the anticipated transition of a long-tenured leader, having a plan in place can help nonprofit organizations weather the inevitable challenges.

Designed for a two-person team, sessions one and two focus on individuals' roles and responsibilities, while the final session brings the nonprofit's team together for a shared strategy. To ensure continuity and the best outcome, organizations are recommended to attend all three sessions.

All three sessions will be held at Sourcewell in Staples and presented by Julie Pelzl of J. Pelzl Consulting. Cost is $45 per two-person team for nonprofits in Region 5 or $105 per two-person for other nonprofits. Meals are included.
