Sourcewell hosts Civic Solutions Challenge to bring startup solutions to the public sector
STAPLES, Minn.– Sourcewell invites startup innovators to pitch public solutions for a nationwide challenge. Finalists will be featured at the Smart Cities Fall Conference and Expo and one winner will be eligible for a paid pilot up to $100K. Submissions are open now through March 26.
Sourcewell Ventures Civic Solutions Challenge fast-tracks new technology to the public sector. Sourcewell will judge submissions to advance those best aligned with agency needs.
Up to 10 finalists will pitch their solutions live at the Smart Cities Connect Fall Conference and Expo. During the event, a review panel will select the winner for piloting. The conference takes place Sept. 22-24 in National Harbor, Maryland.
The challenge is hosted by Sourcewell’s innovation and solutions team, Sourcewell Ventures. It's part of broader efforts to quickly pilot new solutions for public agencies.
“Agencies are under growing pressure to deliver more with limited time, staff, and budgets,” said Kary Graser, Sourcewell’s vice president of strategic initiatives. “Through Sourcewell Ventures, we bring agencies and innovators together. This collaboration creates pilots that resolve pain points and improve government services.”
Pilots will be considered for the following focus areas:
Operational GovTech: Tools that improve government service delivery and internal operations/administration
Public Safety Tech: Solutions that support emergency response, law enforcement, and community safety
Public Health and Community Well-being Tech: Non-clinical tech that supports health, safety, and human services
