Star Tribune Names National Joint Powers Alliance® (NJPA) a 2017 Top Workplace
STAPLES, Minn. (26 June 2017) -- National Joint Powers Alliance® (NJPA) has been named one of the Top Workplaces in Minnesota by the Star Tribune.
This is the second-consecutive workplace recognition received by NJPA. The organization was honored as a Top 150 Workplace for 2016.
The award recognizes the most progressive companies in Minnesota based on employee opinions measuring engagement, organizational health, and satisfaction. Over 2,000 workplaces were invited to participate, and over 69,000 employees shared their views. Rankings were composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as one of the top workplaces in Minnesota for the second year in a row, and it’s especially meaningful because it was our employees who responded to the survey and provided the opinions,” said NJPA CEO/Executive Director Dr. Chad Coauette. “As an organization, we’ve taken steps and been very intentional about building a culture of curiosity and service. We’re fortunate to have a great team of people backed by an extremely supportive Board of Directors.”
NJPA holds quarterly all-staff training on topics ranging from customer service, communication styles, and safety. Employees also engage in monthly small-group leadership development meetings to foster connectivity, communication, and a common, objective language.
The organization’s yearly metrics also call for an average of 50 hours of professional development and eight hours of volunteer time per full-time employee.
“NJPA reinvests in its employees by providing many resources to use toward professional and personal growth,” said Trevor Loftis, NJPA financial analyst and employee of six years. “We’re encouraged to take initiative and show leadership in all aspects of our job, which generates innovative thinking and provides us with a sense of a bigger purpose.”
