Three cheers for students of character
Students received accolades, scholarships at area event
Area students and their families gathered to share stories of adversity and determination at the 2024 Students of Character Celebration, April 17, 2024, at Madden’s on Gull Lake.
Forty-five juniors and seniors from high schools throughout the area – including Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena counties – were honored at a special event recognizing students for their quiet leadership, perseverance, and dedication to their community, school, and fellow students. Each honoree was selected by staff from their school and presented with a $750 scholarship, made possible by business and community donations.
“This event is a special time of year for our entire team,” says Sourcewell CEO Chad Coauette. “I’m inspired by every one of these students, for their commitment and drive amid such a variety of challenges. It’s an honor to recognize their character and their achievements, and to be part of the immense generosity shown by this community to its students.”
The Students of Character Celebration was by invitation only; however, the event was broadcast live on Facebook for the general public. A recording of the complete event can be viewed on the Sourcewell Facebook page.
